Shared Rides & Buses
A number of buses are being chartered by activists who live some distance from Oakland. We’re listing the ones we know about here:
Marin County – Greenbrae Park & Ride: 350Marin has hired a bus to take people from Marin to the event, leaving Greenbrae Park & Ride at 10:45 am sharp and arriving back at that location by 3:45 pm. The March leaves Lake Merritt Amphitheater at Noon and we will stay for most of the Rally which follows at Frank Ogawa Plaza and be back on the bus at 3:00 to head back. Bus seats are still available The cost is $15. (Some student and low income tickets at $8). Please sign up and buy your tickets right away at Universe.com as seats will go fast.
Santa Rosa and Sonoma State University: Pickups at the Downtown Santa Rosa Federal Building (9:00 am) and at Sonoma State Univ. (9:20 am). Round trip tickets $21.69 ($5 for SSU or SRJC college students, limited number available); a V.I.P. option is available to help sponsor those unable to pay full-fare. Return to Santa Rosa by 4:00 pm. Sacramento: Pick up in front of the State Capitol, L and 10th St. 10:00 am and returns by 5:00 pm. $20/ticket (round trip); $10/ticket for student / older / adult-with-child. Lower prices (or free rides) are available, please call Dorothy at 916-451-2045, so she can assign you a reduced-price seat(s). This is a child-friendly event.
Silicon Valley (San Jose and Palo Alto): Bus departs at 10:30 am from Diridon Station in San Jose; and at 11:15 from the parking area of the Caltrain station in downtown Palo Alto. Return departure from Oakland at 3:30 pm.
